Instead of families planning, organizing, and holding garage sales on their own, the entire neighborhood can get in on the act and plan one together. The main reason to pool together is to get more foot traffic to your sale. Another benefit is the division of labor for promoting the event. With more people participating, you can get more flyers up around town, spread the news through word of mouth, or even pool together resources to promote and advertise your event in the local newspaper. We’ve even heard of larger neighborhood groups promoting their sales through paid advertisements on local radio stations.
